16 Dec How technology influences our current way of working
It’s safe to say that our way of working has changed drastically in 2020. Even employers who don’t embrace technological progress are suddenly forced to facilitate the New Way of Working. In this blog we have a look at the changes in our way of working in recent times, and what the modern workplace should consist of. What do you do to keep your technology and IT infrastructure up-to-date?
“The New Way of Working” as the new standard
“The New Way of Working” hasn’t been new for a long time now.
To be able to work where, when and how you want to – that’s the demand of the new generation of workers. By 2025, 75% of the workforce will be millennials. Sooner or later, employers will have to listen to their wishes and requirements.
Next to that, the corona crisis has forced employers worldwide to consider flexible workplaces and remote collaboration. Where we initially thought that working from home would only be temporary, we are now almost a year further. And we all agree on one thing: our way of working will never be the same again.
We were suddenly forced to sit at the kitchen table with our laptop. Now that working from home does not appear to be temporary, companies have to invest in home offices. More and more people develop physical complaints as a result of working from home. Therefore, you should consider investing in a good ergonomically responsible flexible workplace and modern technology that enables remote collaboration and meetings.

The right technology for the modern workplace
What does the modern workplace have to consist of? One thing is certain: people must be able to work flexibly from any location. Because guess what? Working from home isn’t all that bad.
In the beginning, we all had to get used to the lack of face-to-face contact with colleagues and learning how to use modern meeting technology. Suddenly their were no more chats around the watercooler, no joint lunches, no physical meetings. However, after this short adjustment phase more and more people are starting to see the benefits of working from home. We have now embraced and internalised modern technology. Do we even want to go back to the office?
Recent research by the Kennisinstituut van Mobiliteit (Dutch Knowledge institute of mobility) indicates that 45% of the people who work from home want to continue to do so after the pandemic, whether or not alternating with working in the office. The popularity of modern meetings has also grown: 53% of the respondents find modern meetings to be just as productive as physical meetings. Note: The productivity and commitment of your staff is related to the quality of your technology.
